High-dose melatonin may be an effective sleep aid for older adults, according to a study published online. Researchers randomly assigned 24 healthy older adults (age older than 55 years) to receive two weeks of placebo and two weeks of either a low (0.3 mg) or high (5.0 mg) dose of melatonin 30 minutes before lights out. Polysomnography was used to record sleep that was scheduled at all circadian phases.

Described as L’Oréal’s biggest sun care innovation in 30 years, the new technology will make its debut in La Roche Posay’s Anthelios franchise. UVMune 400 was 10 years in development.
